This includes one uniform, one handbook, awards, and participation in parties/events. Replacement uniforms/handbooks, additional handbooks/extra credit books, and participation in missions/ministry projects will require an extra expense. NOTE: TREK may take off-campus trips to fast food restaurants – these are an extra expense.PARENT SUPPORT: The AWANA program requires children to memorize a number of Bible verses and complete projects in the handbook. It is expected that parents/guardians will support these efforts by helping children prepare outside the AWANA meeting night. Parents/guardians should help children prepare for special emphasis events and bring their uniform, handbook, and Bible each meeting.CHILD SAFETY: Meadows Baptist Church and AWANA make every effort to keep your child safe. Part of that program is for parents to walk in with each child prior to each meeting to sign in and get a name tag. After each meeting, walk in to pick up each child from the classroom and sign out. Though we keep Game Time safe, there is an occasional bump, bruise, or scrape. Children should wear tennis shoes each week to help avoid injury during Game Time. Any off-campus activity requires a signed permission form.DISCIPLINE: AWANA is a very structured program that requires the utmost cooperation between children and leaders. Behavior of any child who frequently distracts other children from the goals of AWANA will be addressed with the family. If unacceptable behavior continues, the child may be dismissed from the program. The family of any child that deliberately injures or endangers another child or leader will be called immediately to pick up the child. We will meet with the family to determine future participation of that child.MANDATORY PARENT MEETING: There will be a mandatory parent/child meeting on the first night of AWANA (August 28, 2019 at 6:30 PM). Complete registration and pay fees at that time.
